As a matter of fact, Audrey didn’t really have any reasons to be criticized. He is honest too, by telling us not to look for scandals concerning his mother. What Sean writes about his mother is said in an absolutely beautiful and touching way. This Audrey Hepburn’s biography is one that was written with the heart. As he says in his book, she was his best friend, and she perhaps was his closest confidant. You see, Sean loved his mother more than anything. And could I go wrong with a book written by her son, someone who was very close to her?īe reassured, Sean book about his mother is not a “Mommy Dearest” book. I remembered then that one of my Facebook friends (another Audrey Hepburn’s fan) had once praised this book and recommended me to read it. My final choices were Kendra Bean’s Vivien Leigh: an Intimate Portrait (that I had just started) and Sean Hepburn Ferrer’s Audrey Hepburn: un fils se souvient. I would have liked to borrow all of them, but that was obviously impossible. I was at Montreal’s Bibliothèque des Archives Nationales du Québec the other day to borrow some books for my Contemporary Spanish Cinema course, when I remembered the place was fulled of biographies of my favourite actors and movie directors.
